Pelgulinna Gymnasium and RAE State Gymnasium, Estonia
In partnership with ARCO FIRE, VID FIREKILL has provided fire protection for two newly constructed educational institutions in Estonia - Pelgulinna Gymnasium in Tallinn, and RAE State Gymnasium in the Tallinn region, which were both developed and operated by the Merko Group.
Both projects have been designed and constructed with sustainability principles in mind. The buildings share an extensive use of wood in both interior and exterior spaces, which not only enhances their visual appeal but also contributes towards an eco-friendly construction.
The VID FIREKILL low pressure water mist system was found to be the ideal solution for the two projects. The water mist systems have been installed for the protection of classrooms, corridors, and atriums. The system's reduced pipe dimensions and aesthetically pleasing nozzles offer a firefighting solution that blends in well with the architecture and compliments the aesthetics of the buildings. Apart from the aesthetics, the system requires low water consumption making it an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution.
The Pelgulinna State gymnasium was completed in 2023, and the RAE gymnasium is scheduled for completion in 2024.

Why was a VID FIREKILL solution chosen?
• The FIREKILL™ system offers reliable fire protection without sacrificing the integrity of the structure.
Some specifics
The water mist system features nozzles and pipes that are hidden in the ceiling. This not only helps to preserve the aesthetics of the unique buildings but also ensures that the system remains discreet and blends in with the structure.
