The QUADRILL in Linz, Austria
Together with our Austrian partner FES Fire Expert Solutions GmbH, we are providing fire protection to the large-scale QUADRILL project on the premises of the Tabakfabrik in Linz Austria. The heritage-listed industrial complex designed by architect Peter Behrens in the early 1930s will be complemented by four large new buildings to transform the old landmark into a modern living and working space and strengthen the future identity of the district. The architecture of the QUADRILL is designed by the architectural firm Zechner & Zechner from Vienna.
The QUADRILL, a project by the Bodner Gruppe, is one of Austria's largest construction projects. It comprises a four-part building ensemble including residential, hotel, office spaces, retail areas, and restaurants. The centerpiece of the complex is the 109-meter-tall QUADRILL Tower, which will transform the cityscape of Linz and serve as the flagship structure of the Tabakfabrik.
The VID FIREKILL low pressure watermist system was found to be the perfect solution for the project. With its reduced pipe dimensions and aesthetically pleasing nozzles, the system offers a firefighting solution that does not interfere with the architecture. Apart from the aesthetics, the system offers low water requirements as well as reduced construction costs.
The QUADRILL is developed, built, and operated by the BODNER Gruppe and is scheduled for completion in 2025.
