Kant Garage, Berlin
The Original Bauhaus-style Kant Garage in Berlin Fire Protected by VID FIREKILL
The Kant Garage, built in 1930, was Berlin's first multi-story parking facility. Bauhaus architect Richard Paulick designed the six-story building in collaboration with Hermann Zweigenthal. The building, which features a double-sided helix ramp, is one of the few remaining examples of industrial Bauhaus architecture and a great example of how functional and technical aspects can be effectively implemented in an industrial setting. In 2022, architects Nalbach + Nalbach converted the building into a mixed-use building. The former garage now houses office spaces, exhibition areas, penthouse apartments on the top floor, and underground parking for 300 cars. The conversion celebrates the historic building and retains many of the original industrial features from its time as a garage, such as steel beams and heavy metal doors.
VID FIREKILL protects the entire building with low pressure water mist.
